The Central Java Provincial Government will again hold the Central Java Investment Business Forum (CJIBF) 2022. Taking the theme Agri Industries for Green Growth Sustainable Economic Development, the investor gathering event offers 80 investment opportunities, from the agriculture, energy, industry, infrastructure, agriculture, property sectors, and travel. Held on a hybrid basis, CJIBF 2022 will be held on November 9-10 at Gumaya Tower Hotel Semarang. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia are scheduled to attend. In addition, there is also a Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti. Head of the One Stop Integrated Licensing and Investment Agency (DPMPTSP) Ratna Kawuri said the theme reflects global conditions where the need for sustainable green food and energy is increasingly pressing. Moreover, Central Java is a producer of food commodities and a buffer for national food needs. “Central Java has been dominant in the textile, garment, and footwear industries. With global conditions of a trade war, Russia's war with Ukraine has had a tremendous impact on the aspect of food and energy availability. So we want to go back to nature, and secondly to maintain the environmental sustainability. On the other hand, we also want to maintain food sovereignty," she said, Tuesday (11/01/2022) afternoon.
Ratna added, CJIBF 2022 is the right event for potential investors who will invest in Central Java. Because the meeting was not only attended by business actors but also by the government as a regulator. Ratna said that the Central Java Investment Business Forum has been held 18 times. From this event, hundreds of investments have been realized, both from Foreign Investment (PMA) and Domestic Investment (PMDN). Data since 2016 shows that there are around 400 investment interests. Of this figure, around 25-30 percent is realized as an investment. Ratna explained that her party always monitors investment opportunities made by potential investors. Through the Investment Task Force, prospective investors always receive assistance and are monitored. "Considerations of potential investors are usually related to the suitability of the land later, financial capacity, because the impact of the pandemic is so large, so there is a delay in company development," concluded Ratna.
