Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Aims for 5.8 Million MSMEs to Enter Digital Platforms in 2024

The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (KemenkopUKM) targets 5.8 million MSMEs to be able to onboard the digital ecosystem by 2024. This is a follow-up to achieving the target of 30 million MSMEs going digital. "The continuation of the digital transformation of MSMEs. We have a target of 30 million MSMEs, we are onboarding in 2024, and today the idEA data of 20.5 million has been connected," said Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki during a press conference related to the Update on Digital Transformation of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Tuesday (1/11/2022). Therefore, KemenkopUKM held a follow-up Coordination Meeting for the digital transformation of KUMKM to discuss several crucial matters. First, this digital transformation program will involve around 20 ministries and more than 40 institutions and regions, including digital platform players from industry. The MSME digital transformation program from Ministries / Institutions / Regions is focused on 7 MSME groups and 7 aspects of MSMEs digital transformation whose implementation is collaborated with a digital platform with 3 levels of MSME digital transformation "So, our target area is 2.4 million in 2023 and 3.4 million in 2024 because this area has the most MSMEs. Then ministries and institutions in 2023 as many as 1.6 million then 2024 as many as 2.4 million, ' said Teten. In the process, the implementation of programs from Ministries / Institutions / Regions and digital platforms must be reported to KemenKopUKM in an effort to moderate the #Digital Change Movement, with variable focus group data, focus on digital aspects and regional focus "We hope that later in the implementation of this program, everything is reported, communicated so that we will have data by name by address for all MSMEs that have been onboarding to the digital platform," he said. In addition, a pilot project for the integration of the digital onboarding MSME monitoring system between the KemenKopUKM and Ministries/Institutions/Regions will also be carried out as an effort to monitor the use of digital technology by MSMEs. "We also have a pilot project to integrate the monitoring system. So so far it has not been monitored, now we have formed a PMO to carry out a monitoring system for MSMEs that has been onboarding from all ministries, institutions and also from the platform itself, and the regions," said Teten.

Minister Teten continued, at the same time his party is also holding a program for a single data information system which will later be integrated with related ministries/institutions, such as Bappenas which will assist in planning and monitoring data collection through emonev related to the digital transformation of KUMKM in 2023. Then, KKP has KUSUKA data and will integrate the data with KemenKopUKM. There are Grab, Tokopedia, Gojek, Lazada, Dukcapil ready to help integrate data with data variables according to the request of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. In the integration of the digital onboarding MSME monitoring system, standardization of data quality or primary data uses variable data from the Single Data Information System (SIDT). "We hope that in the week of November 4 this year, all regional KL will have updated to us, because it is important that MSMEs that are already connected to digital platforms are important for us to continue to empower, how they expand their market and that may be a lot of help. by friends on the platform itself," he said. MenkopUKM hopes that in the 3rd week of December 2022 we can all formulate a calendar of MSME digital transformation programs for 2023 from each Ministry / Institution / Region and digital platform; and Proof of concept (POC) integration of the digital onboarding MSME monitoring system. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that by 2024, there were 30 million Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to go digital. Even so, until now, there are still 24% of the total MSME players who have utilized digital technology by selling on various e-commerce platforms. In fact, based on reports from Google, Temasek and Bain, Indonesia has the potential for digital economy growth of USD 124 billion in 2025. "We must welcome this potential, because this figure is the highest digital economic growth in the region and is a great opportunity for the MSME sector to carry out digital transformation, fill the marketplace, and become part of the global supply chain," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga. Hartanti in an official statement, Saturday (29/10). Airlangga explained that digitalization for MSMEs would make it easier to synergize with various financial service products, especially in distributing People's Business Credit (KUR). Currently, many commercial banks have developed digital banking in order to target a wider market. The MSME sector can take advantage of the platform as a form of implementing financial digitization. "The government encourages the acceleration of digital technology adoption by MSMEs so that MSMEs remain productive and can adapt to changes in consumer behavior. The support is through the Foster Brother program, e-catalog SMEs, and the Proud Made in Indonesia program," he said. Based on a survey from CORE, as many as 70% of MSMEs experienced an average income increase of 30% by joining the digital ecosystem. Meanwhile, according to the MSME Business Activity Survey conducted by Bank BRI, the MSME business index experienced an increase where in the second quarter of 2022 it reached 109.4 and shows that MSME players are at an optimistic level. Therefore, the government has provided easy access to MSME financing through the distribution of KUR, KUR Interest Subsidies, Working Capital Credit Guarantee, Final Income Tax 0 percent rate for MSMEs, and extension of credit restructuring. Until the end of July 2022, the distribution of KUR has realized IDR 209 trillion, equivalent to 56% of the 2022 target given to 4.4 million debtors. "With real support from the business world, such as the current training, we believe that MSMEs can recover faster and can make a real contribution to Indonesia's economic growth," he added.
