A total of 29 teams participated in the Aceh Plant Design Competition (APDC) 2022. The activity was held for two days from October 30 to 31, at the Hermes Palace Hotel, Banda Aceh. Of the dozens of teams, six teams entered the grand final round, namely three from the Arun Special Economic Zone (KEK) and three Aceh Industrial Estates (KIA) Ladong. The team that made it through to the grand final round presented a presentation related to the factory design plan using sustainable and green resources in Aceh. The activity, which was sponsored by the Aceh Investment Office and also Bank Indonesia, was carried out to strengthen the development of the downstream potential commodity industry in Aceh such as geography, natural resources, as well as the position of the region both in the regional and global value chains.

APDC Jury Board Kasuma Indra said what is needed in Aceh at this time is a business model that is fast, environmentally friendly, and also absorbs a lot of manpower. "Any business as long as it is not prohibited, then it is suitable to develop at this time because everything is in Aceh. The most important thing is that the raw materials are there, besides that they can accommodate plantation products in the region," said the Director of PT Patriot Nusantara, Sunday (10/30.2022). He continued, the participants who took part in the APDC each made proposals for developing industrial businesses suitable for development at KIA Ladong or in the Arun SEZ. "We hope that the participants will continue to work and be optimistic that what has been done is a good thing and in the future, they can come up with creative ideas to build industry in Aceh," he said.
