PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) for the Eastern Indonesia region has succeeded in discovering new oil and gas resources in the Bojonegoro area, East Java. This latest oil and gas resource was discovered while drilling the exploration well Kolibri (KOL)-001 which started on July 3, 2022. The oil and gas found in the drilling process after carrying out a test of the layer bladder (DST #1). Director of Exploration PHE Muharram Jaya Panguriseng said that currently the Eastern Indonesia Regional team is still monitoring the flow of gas and condensate from the exploration well. "Pertamina will continue to explore the potential to find new resources in order to maintain the sustainability of the national upstream oil and gas," he explained in an official statement quoted from the PT Pertamina website, Tuesday (25/10). Director of Regional-4 East Indonesia-Subholding Upstream Pertamina Endro Hartanto expressed hope that the findings of Kolibri-001 can immediately contribute to efforts to increase gas production in the Eastern Indonesia Region. "We will speed up business processes, so that the findings of the Kolibri-001 can immediately enter the Exploration Status Determination (PSE) stage to accelerate the monetization of these findings," explained Endro.These findings complete a series of discoveries of new oil and gas resources in Indonesia.
Previously, it was also found from the exploration drilling of Sungai Gelam Timur-1 (SGET-1) in Jambi, Manpatu-1X in Mahakam, Wilela-001 in Onshore South Sumatra, Bajakah-001 in Onshore West Java, R-2 in Block North Sumatra Offshore (NSO), Sungai Rattan-1X in Jambi, Markisa-001 in Papua, and GQX-1 off the northern coast of Java Island. Pertamina has three strategies in conducting exploration, namely massive and aggressive in existing work areas, seeking potential exploration in new areas, as well as partnership strategies.
