The South Sulawesi Provincial Government has prepared a budget of around IDR 17 billion to develop the tourism sector of the Selayar Islands Regency in 2023. The Regional Secretary of South Sulawesi Province Abdul Hayat Gani in his statement in Makassar, Monday said that the South Sulawesi Provincial Government would provide support for Selayar in 2023, in the form of the construction of Pattumbukang. with a budget of approximately IDR 12 billion. "Then, related to aviation infrastructure, we will also subsidize IDR 5 billion for smooth flights and links to transportation in Selayar Regency," he said. Abdul Hayat said the government would provide system support to help develop tourism in the Selayar Islands. One of them is by budgeting for the development of tourism infrastructure, both through the construction of ports and flight access which can support accessibility to tourist sites in the Selayar Islands.
Abdul Hayat admits that the regional potential cannot be maximized if there is no system support from the provincial government. "I think we are not half-hearted in providing support, especially to stimulate tourism in South Sulawesi. With all of that, we want the outcome to be a lever for economic revival in South Sulawesi," he explained. Therefore, Abdul Hayat said that the beauty of the marine nature in the Selayar Islands, which has become worldwide, has also become a major concern for the government in providing system support. "We believe that the results will support the community's economy as well as for regional and provincial governments," he said.
