The Customs and Excise of Kudus Regency have again carried out activities to support MSMEs to develop marketing through exports. By collaborating with the Financial Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Japan, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) Jepara, the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Jepara, and Freight Forwarders in Jepara, conducting business matching activities between furniture craftsmen in Jepara and buyers from Japan. Jepara is a regency that is famous for its carving and furniture crafts, some of which, there are still MSME furniture craftsmen who still transact manually included in the marketing, although the resulting product turns out to be attractive to buyers from abroad. This condition prompted The Customs and Excise of Kudus Regency in collaboration with the Financial Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Japan to try a breakthrough by bringing together buyers from the Japanese company KYOTANE Corporation and MSME furniture craftsmen in Jepara, namely Indah Jati Furniture and Antex Jaya Exim. The Head of the Extension and Information Services Section of Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC TMC) KUDUS, Sandy Hendratmo explained that this was a manifestation of the commitment of the Kudus Regency Customs. The Customs and Excise of Kudus Regency are committed to always supporting SMEs to export, one of its current support is by scheduling business matching by bringing together buyers abroad,” he explained on Monday (10/24/2022). He added that this activity could not be carried out without collaboration with other parties. "Hopefully this activity can be sustainable with exports, and every time there is an opportunity to be able to support export SMEs, we will schedule it again," he added.
The chairman of ICSB Jepara and owner of Uniqe Cargo (Freight Forwarder), Ajar Tri Raharjo, appreciated the support from the Kudus Customs and Excise for facilitating this business matching activity. "Thank you The Customs of Kudus Regency, which has facilitated this activity. So that prospective buyers can meet directly with MSME actors," he said. Meanwhile, Sumanto, owner of Indah Jati Furniture, expressed his gratitude to all parties involved. "Thank you both to the Customs and Excise of Kudus, as well as to ICSB Jepara for bringing guests to visit the place of business to be able to see the furniture products made," he said. In addition, he also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Yasunobu Okamura who had willingly come from Japan to visit. He hopes that guests who visit his place of business can feel comfortable with his products so that a sustainable business relationship can be established in the future. This business matching activity is expected to be a moment of strengthening sustainable synergies and collaborations to support the export potential of Indonesian MSME players to foreign countries for the rise of the economy, as well as the progress and prosperity of MSMEs in Indonesia.
