Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said that the realization of investment in the third quarter of 2022 reached IDR 307.8 trillion. Cumulatively during January-September 2022, the investment realization was IDR 892.4 trillion or 74.4% of the target of IDR 1,200 trillion. Bahlil believes that the investment target of Rp 1,200 trillion by the end of the year can be achieved even though the global economic conditions are in a 'dark' or uncertain state. This realization succeeded in absorbing 965,122 workers from January-September 2022. "God willing, there will be a glimmer of hope for investment. Our investment in the third quarter is IDR 307.8 trillion, this QnQ grew 1.9% and YoY grew 42.1%. This means that, God willing, we can achieve our target of IDR 1,200 trillion," he said. Geographically, the realization of investment outside Java during January-September 2022 reached 52.9% or IDR 472.1 trillion, grew 38.6% compared to the same period last year. This achievement is higher than the realization of investment in Java, which only grew 31.9% to IDR 420.3 trillion or 47.1% of the target. "Maybe because the investment minister is from outside Java, yes. But no, no, this is all in the context of how to provide justice," he added. In more detail, it explained that the most investment locations during January-September 2022 were in West Java with a realization of IDR 128.4 trillion, DKI Jakarta IDR 108.9 trillion, East Java IDR 79.5 trillion, Central Sulawesi IDR 76.4 trillion, and Riau IDR 71.9 trillion. By sector, most of the investment realization during January-September 2022 came from the base metal industry, metal goods, not machinery and equipment, amounting to IDR 131.8 trillion. Then in the transportation, warehouse and telecommunications sector, IDR 97.6 trillion, mining IDR 96.5 trillion, housing, industrial and office areas IDR 80.5 trillion, and electricity, gas and water IDR 68.6 trillion.
