The Ministry of Industry actively facilitates small and medium industry players (IKM) to participate in international-scale exhibitions. The goal is to open up access for SMEs to penetrate global or export markets so that they can contribute to the national economy. “The participation of SMEs in international exhibitions is a great opportunity for them to be able to learn firsthand strategies to penetrate or expand their export markets,” said the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a press statement in Jakarta, Sunday (10/23/2022). Therefore, SMEs need to know the tastes and needs of foreign consumers, product quality standards, and export legality requirements. By participating in international exhibitions, they will be able to expand business communication networks with potential buyers and investors,” said Agus.
On 19-21 October 2022, the Ministry of Industry through the Directorate General of Small, Medium, and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) brought six machineries SMEs to display their production works at the 2022 Inagritech (Indonesia Agricultural Machinery, Equipment, Technology, and Services Exhibition) which was held at Ji-Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Inagritech is the largest exhibition of technological innovation in the agricultural sector in Indonesia, even ASEAN, which was attended by hundreds of companies from 22 countries and thousands of visitors. In Inagritech 2019, there were 8,616 exhibition visitors from 20 countries, and were proven to be able to boost the sales of exhibitors. “This agricultural innovation exhibition is important to develop the ability of SMEs so that they can compete to support the country's agricultural and plantation industries, amid the issue of the world food crisis. With this innovation and technology, we must be able to create a variety of sustainable food alternatives so that food security can be realized," said the Minister of Industry.
