Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) witnessed 14 countries that signed trade agreements with Indonesian businessmen. In total there are 100 trade agreements, containing trade contracts for various commodities ranging from food and beverages, fishery products, palm sugar, coffee, furniture to Indonesian spices. The total transactions in the 100 trade deals reached USD 1.19 billion or equivalent to IDR 18.45 trillion. The signing took place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), Tangerang, Banten, yesterday (19/10).
The signing was witnessed by Zulhas, Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade, Suhanto and Director General of National Export Development, Didi Sumedi. "I believe the trust and enthusiasm of trading partners from abroad for Indonesian business actors reflects their great trust in the momentum of 'Strengthening Global Trade for Global Recovery' carried by Indonesia in the 37th TEI," he said, at ICE, BSD. In detail, the signing of the 100 trade agreements consists of 99 memorandums of understanding (MoU) and one letter of intent (LoI). The value of the trade deals includes USD 1.19 billion, consisting of trade contracts between Indonesian business actors with Japanese buyers at USD 411.25 million, Malaysia at USD 175.89 million, and Egypt at USD 150.00 million. Then Indonesian businessmen with the Netherlands USD 120.11 million, Saudi Arabia USD 112.99 million, Italy USD 82.95 million, UK USD 62.00 million, United States USD 42.00 million, Australia USD 11 .65 million, Brazil USD 10.00 million, Spain USD 10.10 million, Germany USD 3.00 million, Bangladesh USD 2.00 million, and the Philippines USD 43.00 thousand. The details of the commodities purchased by the dozens of countries include food and beverages, fishery products, paper products, palm oil shells, processed foods, medicines, vegetables, briquettes, palm sugar, coffee, furniture, beauty products, spices, wood products, and motor vehicle tires. In addition, there are also investment contracts for power supply projects from land to meet shore to ship power supply needs. On the same occasion, the Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade Didi Sumedi said, the Ministry of Trade continues to anticipate various other signings that may occur during the 37th TEI implementation and follow-up efforts after the TEI implementation. "This time we witnessed the simultaneous signing of trade agreements between Indonesian business actors and buyers from abroad. We appreciate the efforts that have been made to realize this signing and we anticipate various further business agreements," said Didi.
