The Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) at the 37th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) was officially closed. The JMFW event succeeded in generating trade transactions worth USD 13.2 million or equivalent to IDR 206.6 billion. Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan said that the implementation of Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2023 was proven to be able to inspire fashion actors, not only domestically, but also abroad according to the theme "From Local Wisdom to Global Inspiration". The amount of transactions obtained came from 16 countries, including Malaysia, Spain, Yemen, Portugal, Nigeria, and others. JMFW is an activity initiated by the Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). JMFW 2023 has featured 144 designers/brands with over 1,000 collections. "The achievement achieved at JMFW 2023 of USD 13.2 million or around IDR 206.6 billion is a form of international buyer's trust in the superiority of Indonesian Muslim fashion products. Zulhas said, JMFW is a collaboration of all stakeholders to jointly advance the national Muslim fashion industry so that it can compete in the global market. JMFW has also become an icon of stakeholder collaboration that involves the participation of not only the government, but also business people, academics, and the media," he said. This year's JMFW, he continued, presented Miss Grand International from 68 countries to demonstrate Muslim fashion by Indonesian designers, a fashion show featuring works from 26 young designers from 10 educational units, an exhibition of Muslim fashion products presenting 93 well-known local brands, 23 textile companies. Indonesia is ready to become a supplier of raw materials for Indonesian fashion brands. "In the future, it is hoped that there will be more cooperation contracts with other international buyers," Zulhas explained. At the closing of the JMFW, a MoU was signed between a Malaysian buyer and 14 Indonesian business actors who were also assisted by Bank Indonesia's IKRA. With the completion of the JMFW 2023 event, Zulhas hopes that the JMFW event next year will be more lively and can exist to make Indonesia a mecca for Muslim fashion in the world in 2024. A number of activities held at JMFW 2023 are fashion shows, business matching, and talk shows. JMFW was held in Hall 3 of ICE-BSD while the trade show was joined by the TEI exhibition in Hall 3A. JMFW 2023 fashion products will continue to be included in the virtual 37th TEI event which will end on December 19, 2022. At this year's event, JMFW collaborated with Uniqlo as a sponsoring partner; Wardah and Mustika Ratu as official make-up; and BCA Syariah as a banking partner. In addition, this event was sponsored by Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), Sinarmas Land, Daliatex, Gistex and UBS, Nestle, and YOUC1000.
