Zulhas: 30% of Foreign Trade Agreements Allocated to MSMEs

Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) spoke about the involvement of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in various trade agreements that the government is currently working on. In the inauguration of the opening of the 37th Trade Expo Indonesia in 2022, Zulhas said that foreign trade will continue to be boosted by increasing bilateral trade agreements. He said one of them was the commitment to Qatar, which has a fairly large trade potential. "The trade mission with Qatar managed to record a potential transaction value of almost USD 100 billion. Because what we invite is Muslim clothing SMEs," he said on Wednesday (19/10).

Zulhas said that in the future the Ministry of Trade will focus on working on non-traditional markets to overcome the slowdown in the world economy. The 37th Trade Expo Indonesia will be held from 19-23 October 2022. The main products displayed are from the manufacturing sector, accessories, fashion, beauty, health, medical care, furniture, decorations to digital services and food and beverages. "Big companies, but we allocate 30% for MSMEs," concluded Zulhas.
