The Fish Quarantine Center for Quality Control and Safety of Entikong Fishery Products in the Aruk Cross-Border Post Work Area (PLBN), Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan, exported 9.6 tons of jellyfish to Malaysia, Wednesday (19/10/2022). According to Antara, the jellyfish export is part of the maximum utilization of Indonesia's marine resources. Not only that, the export of fishery commodities worth IDR 5.9 billion since the last six months also aims to encourage new economic growth in the country's border areas. The export of 9.6 tons of jellyfish was also carried out by PLBN Aruk on June 22, 2022. "Alhamdulillah, BKIPM Entikong officer wilker Aruk succeeded in delivering jellyfish exports to Malaysia," explained the Head of the Entikong KIPM Office, Khairul Makmun, as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).
Khairul ensured that before the commodity was sent from Indonesia, his staff had carried out an inspection. A total of 9.6 tons of jellyfish were checked for the correct type and quality by officers. "This is certainly something that we should appreciate, hopefully this will be an opening for others to participate in exporting," he continued. This activity, said Khairul, was very special considering that after two years of the pandemic which resulted in the cessation of exports of fishery products to neighboring countries. Seeing that the export of fishery products has increased recently, he is optimistic that it will have an impact on the local community. "Hopefully this will be the beginning of the smooth return of the export traffic of Indonesian fishery products to Malaysia," he concluded.
