The volume of fishery exports in Lampung Province increased by 12.13% in 2022 compared to the previous year. Head of the Fish Quarantine Agency for Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products (BKIPM) Lampung Muji Saptono said the increase was reflected in an increase in export volume of 12.13%. In 2021, said Muji, the volume of fishery exports was 13,795,864 tons and in 2022 is 15,469,276 tons. "The increase in export volume is 12.13 percent or when converted there is an increase of 1,673,412 tons when compared to the same period in the previous year," he said. There was an increase of IDR 70.6 billion in Lampung’s fishery export value. "For the value of fishery exports in Lampung in 2022, there are IDR 2.04 trillion, while in 2021 it was IDR 1.97 trillion, there is an increase of 3.58 percent," he said. According to him, the frequency of exports decreased by 65 times or by 5.42 percent. Where in 2022 the frequency is 1,200 times while in 2021 the frequency was 1,265 times. "The leading export commodities are shrimp, crab, frozen fish, squid, and sargassum. Currently, exports are a bit sluggish due to the global economic situation and the high cost of containers. However, some have also opened export relations with other countries besides the main export countries, such as the United States and China," he said. He explained that the new export destinations for Lampung fishery products are Thailand and South Korea, and the first shipment of these fishery commodities will begin this month.
In detail, in 2022, Lampung's five main fishery export commodities include shrimp, with an export volume of 9,034,510 tons with a value of IDR 1.2 trillion, and a frequency of 741 times. While the crab commodity has an export volume of 887,272 tons with a value of IDR 376 billion, and a frequency of 138 times, frozen fish has a volume of 3,990,356 tons, with a value of IDR 336 billion and a frequency of 221. Furthermore, the squid commodity has an export value of IDR 50 billion with an export volume of 713,039 tons and a frequency of 78 times, while sargassum has an export volume of 753,960 tons, with an export value of IDR 5 billion with an export frequency of 19 times.
