"Today is an important moment to invite the public to regularly consume chicken meat and eggs as a source of animal protein, especially to fulfill daily nutrition and maintain endurance," said Director General of PKH Nasrullah while attending the peak event of the National Chicken and Egg Day (HATN) commemoration. 12th and World Egg Day, in Bukittinggi, Padang, West Sumatra Province on Sunday (16/10). "Thank God, Indonesia is self-sufficient in chicken meat and eggs, and has even exported to several countries," said Nasrullah. He also explained that currently the government continues to encourage increased consumption of the domestic market through diversification of processed chicken and egg products, and continues to encourage access to export markets to various countries. Nasrullah further said that chicken meat and eggs as sources of animal protein contain essential amino acids essential for the growth of body cells, also function to replace damaged and dead body cells, and regulate other body metabolic processes.
According to him, the increase in national consumption of chicken meat and eggs can be started from the family, by getting used to the consumption of chicken meat and eggs every day, so as to create a healthy and intelligent Indonesian family. "Let's create a healthy and smart Indonesian family by consuming chicken and eggs every day," he said. On that occasion, Nasrullah also expressed his hope that in the future poultry in Indonesia can continue to grow and provide the greatest benefit to the community. For information, at this HATN event, the Ministry of Agriculture together with the Provincial Government of West Sumatra also launched the "Healthy and Smart Family by Consuming Chicken and Eggs" movement. In addition, the MURI record breaking event for drinking 5,000 cups of Talua Tea was also held. Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy said, this activity is a form of campaign for the community to increase the consumption of chicken and eggs throughout Indonesia. "We must move together to increase consumption per capita. If consumption of chicken and eggs increases, stunting will automatically decrease," he concluded.
