The Province of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) is developing Dairy Cattle Farms or milk-producing cows. This plan was revealed by the Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey when launching the GMIM Planting and Livestock Program in Winuri Village, East Likupang District, North Minahasa, Monday (17/10/2022). "We are currently piloting cows, currently there is only 7 liters of milking (dairy)," he said. He also gave an example of the state of Israel which has succeeded in producing their own food needs, one of which is milk. "People are still far from Israel," said the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Ideally, said Governor Olly Dondokambey, one milk can get 15-17 liters. If you have reached that point, you can already make a profit, the cost of producing cow's milk has been covered. The Governor of North Sulawesi already has plans for the future, in addition to cow's milk to increase the economy of farmers, it is directed to strategies for dealing with stunting. This cow's milk will later be distributed to the children for consumption. "The road synergy benefits the people. Everything is the same program from above, Pak Jokowi's program goes down to me at the bottom, it doesn't break in the middle of the road," he said.
The Governor of North Sulawesi has also thought about providing assistance to the community to develop livestock at the family level. For example, each family will be assisted by 1 rooster and 2 hen. The hope is that chickens can produce eggs for family consumption. In addition to the need for food security, it is also a source of nutrition in an effort to fight stunting in children. "1 household 1 laka chicken (male) 2 female chickens. Manganese chicken, cut into chicken, kept in a cage to take the eggs," he said. In addition, Governor Olly Dondokambey also prepared a program to reduce rice consumption to replace alternative food. Governor Olly Dondokambey also invited GMIM residents to maintain food sovereignty. In Winuri Village, Governor Olly Dondokambey distributed seeds, agricultural tools, and livestock seeds. On that occasion the Governor also took the time to plant ready-to-plant land with stakeholders. In Winuri Village, a peanut plantation was developed. Governor Olly Dondokambey had the opportunity to harvest peanuts.
