This figure increased by 0.19 million hectares or 1.87% compared to 2021 which was only 10.41 million hectares. Deputy for Distribution Statistics and Services at BPS Setianto explained that the increase in rice harvested area has boosted national productivity. "National rice productivity in terms of dry grain quality or GKP in 2022 is estimated to reach 62.77 quintals per hectare or an increase of 0.27 quintals per hectare or an increase of 0.43% compared to 2021," he said at a press conference in his office, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 17, 2022. Meanwhile, national rice productivity in the form of dry milled grain quality or GKG in 2022 is estimated to reach 52.49 quintals per hectare. "Or an increase of 0.23 quintals per hectare (an increase of 0.44%) compared to 2021," said Setianto.
On the island of Sumatra, the average rice productivity is 51.38 quintals per hectare (an increase of 0.96 percent). On the island, the highest productivity was recorded in Aceh, which was 55.42 quintals per hectare. For Kalimantan Island, the productivity is 33.90 quintals per hectare with the highest productivity in South Kalimantan Province. Then Bali and Nusa Tenggara, the productivity of which is 51.29 quintals per hectare and the highest is in the Province of Bali. Meanwhile on Sulawesi Island, the productivity is 49.37 quintals per hectare and the highest is in Gorontalo Province. "Then Maluku and Papua with productivity of 39.18 quintals per hectare, the highest occurred in West Papua Province," said Setianto. Setianto added that the calculation of the provisional figure for rice productivity is carried out using a methodology that integrates two data collection systems, namely KSA and tiles based on the ASF sub-segment. Productivity data is obtained from the implementation of tile surveys that are carried out throughout the year.
