The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) again reported Indonesia's trade balance for September 2022. Indonesia's trade balance in September 2022 was recorded as a surplus for the 29th time every month. In September 2022, Indonesia's trade balance was recorded as a surplus of USD 4.99 billion. This surplus occurred because the value of exports in September was higher than imports. "So Indonesia's trade balance until September 2022 posted a surplus for 29 consecutive months, if we look at it since May 2020," said Deputy for Distribution Statistics and Services at BPS Setianto at a press conference, Monday (17/10/2022). He explained that exports in September 2022 reached USD 24.80 compared to September 2021, an increase of 20.28%. Consisting of oil and gas exports year on year, up 41.80%, while non-oil exports rose 19.26%. However, when compared to exports in August 2022, the export value in September 2022 decreased by 10.99%. "The export value in September 2022 reached USD 24.80 billion, down 10.99% compared to August 2022," he said. Meanwhile, the import value in August 2022 was USD 19.81 billion. The percentage decreased by 10.58% compared to last month. "For imports in September, the import value was USD 19.81 billion. Or decreased by 10.58% compared to August 2022," he said. That way, the value of exports in September 2022 is still higher than imports. Thus, Indonesia's trade surplus in September reached USD 4.99 billion.
