Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Jan S Maringka is optimistic that the Stevia and Porang plants will become the leading export commodities of North Sulawesi Province in the future. It is estimated that the need for Stevia in South Korea is quite large, which is around 200 tons, but only two tons are met in the first export. Inspector General Maringka believes that if the development of the Stevia plant is carried out in a planned, programmed and able to meet the standards of the needs of export markets abroad, this commodity will become a giant candidate for exporting agricultural commodities in the province of the northern tip of Sulawesi. There are 2000 farmers who have registered and partnered with the Bejana Kasih company, and the target land area to be planted is 120 hectares. Likewise with the commodity Porang plant, which is temporarily being developed in North Sulawesi and temporarily building a factory that is processed into flour. Currently the required land capacity for the development of this commodity is 1500 hectares, but only 200 hectares have been fulfilled.
