The government through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) in an integrated manner is accelerating the development of several basic infrastructures in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KIT) which includes connectivity, water resources, settlements, and housing through an infrastructure development master plan to encourage regional economic growth. The Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that the Ministry of PUPR supports the development of the Batang KIT by building several basic infrastructures. "The construction itself has been carried out since 2021 with a total budget of IDR 3.1 trillion from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN)," said Iwan while accompanying the Working Visit (Kunker) of the House of Representatives Commission V Recess in the Batang Industrial Estate, Monday (10/10/2022).
For support in the field of Water Resources, the Ministry of PUPR through the Pemali Juana River Basin Center (BBWS) undertook the construction of the Main Drainage of KIT Batang (2021) for IDR 46.1 billion and the construction has now been completed. Furthermore, the development of the Urang River Raw Water Supply (2021-2022) consists of two packages, namely Package I: Urang Dam for IDR 245 billion and progress of 97.7% and Package II: West and East Reservoir/Embung for IDR 159 billion and 98.2% progress. Meanwhile, for the development of the Kedunguntung Dam Development Document (2022-2023), the progress has reached 2.7%. Meanwhile, to support connectivity, the Ministry of PUPR through the Central Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) - D. I. Yogyakarta has completed the construction of 50.2 km of roads and 10 bridges with a total length of 667 m and a cost of IDR 1.83 trillion. In the housing sector, the Central Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center is currently carrying out the construction of an integrated IPAL and the Batang KIT Wastwater Piping Network (December 2021 - December 2023) with a capacity of 18,000 m3/day for IDR 341 billion. Currently, the progress has reached 31.6%. In addition, the Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST) KIT Batang was also built with a capacity of 35 tons/day and a cost of IDR 21.9 billion. Currently, the progress has reached 71.6% and is targeted for completion in December 2022. Meanwhile, for the construction of the WTP and SPAM Piping Network with a capacity of 285 liters/second and a cost of IDR 151 billion, the progress currently reaches 32.1% and is targeted for completion in February 2023.
To support the housing sector in KIT Batang, the Directorate General of Housing has completed the construction of 10 towers of flats for industrial workers in Batang for IDR 351.9 billion. This flat is a barracks type with each tower consisting of 5 floors so that in total it can accommodate 2,620 people. To complement this flat, environmental roads, drainage, pedestrian facilities, parking areas, sports fields, parks, and mosques are also built. The chairman of Commission V of the DPR RI, Lasarus said, the working visit at KIT Batang was carried out to carry out supervision of infrastructure development whose financing was sourced from the APBN amounting to IDR 3.1 trillion which was invested in KIT Batang in the form of road infrastructure, water resources, Wastewater Treatment Plants (IPAL), and flats. "This is a new concept that is being applied in the Batang KIT because the government that prepares the infrastructure is then handed over to SOEs as government capital participation which will later manage the Batang KIT," explained Lasarus. Meanwhile, the President Director of KIT Batang, Ngurah Wirawan regarding the management of the eastern reservoir, said that in the area there is an estate regulation. "Coincidentally the place (reservoir) is beautiful and there are many tourist knick-knacks prepared by the Ministry of PUPR so that later we will manage the destination because there are aspects of We have to maintain security," said Ngurah Wirawan.
