The development of export-import in Aceh continues to increase every year. In 2021, the value of Aceh Province's foreign exports will reach USD 502 million or grow 67.42% from the previous year. Meanwhile, in terms of imports, the value of foreign imports in Aceh Province throughout 2021 reached USD 119 million or grew 361% from the previous year. In the context of exports, coal is Aceh's main export commodity with a share of almost 65% of total exports, followed by coffee (14.28%) and areca nut (4.96%). Meanwhile, in terms of destination countries, India (share 60.21%), Thailand (9.80%), and the USA (7.97%) became the countries with the highest share of non-oil and gas exports in Aceh. Meanwhile, in the context of imports, mechanical machinery/aircraft became the main commodity imported by Aceh with a share of 87.14%, followed by electrical machinery/equipment with a share of 9.30%. Meanwhile, in terms of countries of origin, the main imported goods came from China (96.59% share), Singapore (2.43%), and Thailand (0.98%).
Seeing the rapid export-import development in Aceh Province, Bank Indonesia organized the “Socialization of Foreign Exchange Traffic Provisions (LLD)” to provide understanding to banks and business actors who carry out Foreign Exchange Traffic transactions related to Foreign Exchange Traffic reporting. The socialization was carried out in a hybrid manner on 10-11 October 2022 at the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Aceh Province. The series of activities started from the socialization of LLD provisions, tripartite meetings (Bank Indonesia, Corporations, and Banks), coaching clinic for Bank LLD reporting, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The Head of Bank Indonesia Representative for Aceh Province, Achris Sarwani said that the LLD socialization activity was not only providing understanding to entrepreneurs and banks regarding reporting, but also how this activity could encourage Aceh's economic development, especially in terms of exports. In line with this, the Head of the Department of Management and Compliance Reports (DPKL) of Bank Indonesia, Tongam P. Simanjuntak, said that the availability of data and information on foreign exchange transactions is crucial to the management of foreign exchange, because every foreign exchange that enters or goes out greatly determines the level of foreign exchange reserves that can be used. managed by BI and plays an important role in supporting the stability of the rupiah exchange rate.
