Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said Japan is ready to work with Indonesia to develop Islamic finance and economy. While talking with PM Fumio Kishida at the funeral of former Japanese prime minister (PM) Shinzo Abe, Ma'ruf said Indonesia was ready to become Japan's partner in developing an Islamic law-based economy. "He (Kishida) said 'we are ready and we have instructed relevant ministries and ambassadors in Indonesia to build sharia economic cooperation with Indonesia'" said Ma'ruf at the 'Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival 2022', Thursday (6/10). However, Ma'ruf did not specify in what form the cooperation would be built. He only said that the ranking of Indonesia's Islamic economy and finance at the global level was very good. According to Ma'ruf, this can be achieved thanks to the close synergy between all stakeholders. He also claimed that the increasingly strong Islamic economy has provided support for national economic stability. In addition, Islamic economics can be relied on to create a balance between economic growth and equity.
GGH can integrate MSME actors and other stakeholders in a halal ecosystem. According to him, this will facilitate the downstream process and improve the quality and competitiveness of halal products/services. Second, strengthening the halal value chain (HVC) ecosystem by increasing the integration of business models and infrastructure from upstream to downstream. "The strengthening of the HVC ecosystem is carried out by strengthening the support of the financial industry, banking, insurance, logistics, and other sharia sectors," added Ma'ruf. Third, the development of Muslim Friendly Tourism (PRM). According to him, the contribution of the tourism sector to the formation of GDP is expected to continue to increase, along with the high potential for visits by world Muslim tourists. Fourth, increasing human resources education and expertise, as well as the availability of a sharia economic HR roadmap. Ma'ruf said that this Roadmap will support the development of the halal industry in Indonesia which is increasingly measurable, systematic and integrated, so that it can develop faster and faster. "All parties are expected to continue to participate in improving literacy and creating a conducive environment for economic development and Islamic finance," he said.
