The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) will again hold the International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas (ICIUOG) on 23-25 November 2022. This event will be conducted in a hybrid manner in Nusa Dua, Bali. It is hoped that this event will be able to attract investors in the upstream oil and gas sector. Taking the theme "Boosting Investment and Adapting Energy Transition through Stronger Collaborations", this international convention is also aimed at attracting investment in the upstream oil and gas sector. Through policy facilitation, showing potential, building collaboration, and providing rewards related to performance achievement. And as a follow-up to targets in upstream oil and gas, including the production of 1 million BOPD of oil and 12 BSCFD of gas in 2030. Chairman of Organizing Committee ICIUOG 2022, Mohammad Kemal said, there are three important issues that will be discussed in ICIUOG 2022, namely Economic Recovery, Energy Security, and Energy Transition. These three things are in line with the Indonesian government's programs and Indonesia's more sustainable targets, such as the target of achieving net zero emissions by 2060 and phase-out coal GHG by 2040. "We hope to be able to attract ICIUOG 2022 participants up to 1000 on-site participants and 10,000 online participants," said Kemal. As is known, the ICIUIOG 2021 which will be held on November 29 - December 1, 2021 in a hybrid manner by SKK Migas and assisted by a number of relevant stakeholders, has succeeded in attracting the number of participants to reach 150,000 from 24 countries.
In 2021, 41 commercial deals were signed. From these agreements, the potential profit for the Indonesian oil and gas industry is USD 1.4 billion. "This of course also helps the progress of Indonesia's upstream oil and gas industry to achieve the oil and gas production target in 2030," he said. Kemal said, in last year's event, ICIUOG 2021 had 14 keynotes and panels, 13 pillar strategy themes, 11 concurrent forums and breakouts, and more than 120 speakers. This event also gave 22 awards to KKKS. In addition, the keynote speakers who will appear at ICIUOG 2021 include; Deputy Chairperson of the House of Representatives Commission VII Maman Abdurrahman, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara , and Deputy Minister I of BUMN Pahala Mansury. In ICIUIOG 2021, the government will continue its commitment to achieve the target of the Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. This is in line with the statement of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto. “We will continue to support oil and gas production for economic prosperity and energy security. We will implement it through the implementation of environmentally friendly programs and the development of 'green' products," he said last year at ICIUIOG 2021. Kemal hopes that, through this grand event for the oil and gas industry, the government's commitment to ease of doing business for oil and gas investors and the ratification of the Oil and Gas Bill can be realized. That way, the Oil and Gas Investment Climate in Indonesia can continue to improve and the 2030 oil and gas production target can be achieved.
