Indonesian Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin said that currently Indonesia is one of the countries with the safest food sector in the world. Therefore, he then praised the ranks of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in developing the agricultural sector for more than three years. According to Ma'ruf, Indonesian agriculture is currently able to strengthen Indonesian food from various threats from the world crisis. This was conveyed by the Vice President when he inaugurated the Guler Farm Nature Agro-tourism which is located in Kanda Wati Village, Gunung Kaler District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. "He (Minister of Agriculture SYL) has led Indonesia to become the most food safe country in the world. He is an innovator who does many things. Thank you, Mr. Minister, for developing our agriculture to be more modern," said Ma'ruf in his statement, Saturday (8/10/2022). Ma'ruf said he was grateful because so far the ranks of the Ministry of Agriculture had done a lot for the progress of Indonesia. One of them is the development of agro-edutourism. According to him, such tourism needs to be increased to foster public interest in developing agriculture. "I am really grateful because what we want, firstly, tourist attractions that are cheap, easy to reach and thank God, thanks to the support of the Minister of Agriculture, it can be realized," he said. Ma'ruf said agriculture is a blessing that has been recorded in the Quran. Evidently, this blessing can be seen clearly when the world is facing a high pandemic, where Indonesia remains stable and does not lack food. "Agriculture is a blessing and is already in the Koran. It turns out that when we are facing a pandemic and approaching a food crisis, the world of agriculture is present as a cushion," he said.
Therefore, the Vice President requested that the development of the agricultural sector continue to be carried out so that Indonesia is able to become the most powerful country and is resistant to various threats. "Thank you, Minister, I think this is something for which I am grateful. We have to build and change it and God willing, if there is no sleeping land, there will be no unemployed workers, God willing, we will all prosper," he said. Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (Mentan SYL) expressed his gratitude for the direction of the Vice President in developing a much more advanced and modern agriculture. SYL emphasized that agriculture is the economic support of the nation as well as the strength of the state in the future. "Agriculture is the strength of the nation. Thank God for the two and a half years we were beaten by Covid, we were able to get out thanks to all of our prayers. And now Indonesia is one of the strongest countries in the field of food, that's what FAO as a world food agency has said. Insyaallah in the future we will take care of it keep going," he explained.
