The International Investor Daily Summit (IDS) conference which will be held on 11-12 October 2022 is ready to discuss three strategic issues in the economic field as focus of discussion. IDS committee chairman David Batubara said in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/10/2022), that the three main pillars that IDS 2022 will focus on are digital issues with how to utilize technology for transformation, and contributing to alternative growth. Then, the issue of resources that focus on the downstream of commodity products to maximize added value, as well as the issue of services, how the potential of the service sector becomes the backbone of the Indonesian economy going forward. “IDS 2022 is held to showcase investment opportunities in Indonesia as the fastest-growing economy in the Asia-Pacific region and the largest market in Southeast Asia,” he said in a written statement. He continued that this conference is to finalize the regulatory framework, socio-political climate, sectoral insights, and thought leadership of stakeholders in Indonesia. This conference also establishes a forum that brings together leaders of central and regional government institutions, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors, and highlights the latest economic and business potentials and trends in the region.
He explained the number of strategic goals from this conference was, first, the identification of specific problems in various industries to serve as follow-up guidelines (action plans) for stakeholders. Second, the identification of business opportunities and trends in Indonesia’s economic growth in a global context. The third target is the interaction between business stakeholders in Indonesia, with the birth of a compilation of recommendations as input to strengthen the governance of the Indonesian economy, especially strong and sustainable investment. According to him, the activity will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center and is scheduled to be opened by President Joko Widodo, attended by 7 ministers and ministerial-level officials, as well as more than 50 speakers consisting of international speakers, leaders of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the private sector. Carrying the theme “Optimism in Uncertainty”, he added, IDS 2022 allows stakeholders to sit down together and exchange ideas about Indonesia’s future steps, in times of global economic uncertainty.
