President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will finalize a draft government regulation (RPP) for incentives for business actors who will do business in the new capital city of archipelago (IKN Nusantara). Hopefully it will attract the private sector to invest in IKN. Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono said that this was one of the decisions in an internal meeting with Jokowi and his staff. "So there are several fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, indeed we have designed together with the Ministry of Investment and BKPM as well as the Interdep Finance team, Bappenas and related ministries to make investors invest their capital, start doing business in IKN," he explained in a press statement posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Tuesday. (4/10/2022). He hopes that in the future the businesses that enter IKN will be beneficial for business actors, as well as for the local community in IKN. In addition, Jokowi also decided to prepare a business entity owned by an authority that deals with entrepreneurs who will do business in IKN. "So entrepreneurs in IKN are handled by business entities owned by the authorities. Later, of course, we will partner with structuring or financial engineering together with other business investors in the hope that a very good business climate will be created and we will pay close attention to sustainability and investment in the future. ," he said.
Third, the government will cooperate with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to conduct socialization and carry out a Market Sounding which will be led by Jokowi. The target, this decision can be realized in the middle of this month. "Hopefully in mid-October we can do that, by inviting potential investors, we will hold a dialogue in a forum. I think many parties are waiting for how far we prepare what we have to build. We try to make the investment business climate the most important in the city. We prepare ourselves so that later the city becomes a green smart city, inclusive in the future," he concluded.
