Commemorating National Batik Day 2022, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and its subsidiaries are committed to continuing to support and prosper Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially those engaged in the batik business. One of them is by encouraging batik SMEs to go online according to the direction of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir. SVP General and TJSL Pupuk Indonesia, Yana Nurahmad Haerudin, said that by going online, batik fostered partners could make their products Go Global. In addition to supporting the economic recovery program, this effort is also in order to preserve batik as one of Indonesia's cultural heritages that has been recognized by the world. "Currently, there are around 23 MSME units in the batik business sector which are fostered partners of a number of our subsidiaries in various regions," Yana explained, Sunday (2/10/2022). This program for fostering MSMEs fostered by batik partners, continued Yana, is in line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, who emphasized the importance of MSMEs in the national economic constellation. Because according to Erick, MSMEs are the sector that absorbs the most workers. Thus, supporting MSMEs is the same as contributing to the prosperity of the Indonesian people. Yana further stated that currently there are four subsidiaries of Pupuk Indonesia which have fostered partners engaged in the batik business. They are PT Petrokimia Gresik (11 foster partners), PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (9 foster partners), PT Pupuk Sriwidjadja Palembang (2 foster partners), and PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek (1 foster partner).
The form of coaching is through the provision of capital assistance, assistance, to the marketing of batik products. This coaching includes participation through a number of exhibition events, online marketing training, to website creation, and so on. "We do this so that our batik partners can reach a wider market and follow marketing trends digitally or online," Yana explained. Moreover, the development of the batik industry in Indonesia can be said to be quite good. Because many world clothing designers use batik in their fashion designs. Especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, various fashion events in the world have begun to be held again. One of Petrokimia Gresik's fostered partners, Nur Kholis, owner of Batik Bangsawan Tekstil (BBT). Since 2016, his batik products have reached markets in a number of countries such as Thailand, Japan, France, and even the United States. He felt very helped by the coaching program from members of the holding of Pupuk Indonesia, namely Petrokimia Gresik. According to him, the capital assistance he received was different from the capital loan scheme from banks, both in terms of interest and business continuity. In addition, Nur Kholis also claimed to have received assistance and training for online marketing. According to him, this coaching is very helpful, especially in terms of website creation. According to him, online marketing has the potential to increase turnover, because internet access and smartphones have now become people's daily lives. "Although the products we sell are traditional batik, our marketing is modern," he explained.
