Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas released the export of aluminum products produced by PT Maspion Group in Surabaya, East Java. Zulhas released the export of 22 Maspion aluminum containers worth USD 1.2 million or IDR 18.2 billion (exchange rate of IDR 15,200). "The government, especially the Ministry of Trade, is trying to open new markets as a destination for exporting Indonesian products. We have built toll roads to make it easier to export to Indonesia's trading partner countries. ," said Zulhas in his statement, Thursday (29/09/2022). The aluminum exports from Surabaya will be sent to six countries. The release also coincided with the achievement of exports to 100,000 containers of various Maspion products to the global market. "We appreciate Maspion as a labor-intensive industry that not only produces to fulfill the local market, but is also export-oriented. The achievement of national trade performance cannot be separated from the role of Indonesian business actors who continue to export to trading partner countries. such a strategic strategy through regulations that can encourage export performance," said Zulhas. A total of six aluminum export destinations include the United States (US), Australia, Britain, New Zealand, Belgium, and Vietnam. Meanwhile, aluminum products exported today are extruded aluminum, aluminum ladders, and aluminum foil.
According to Zulhas, the release of aluminum exports shows Indonesia's progress in the aluminum industry. What's more, there is a growing demand for aluminum extrusions that can be used as building materials, aluminum ladders, printer components, and solar panel frames. It should be noted that in 2021, Indonesia will be in the 24th position as an extruded aluminum exporter with a market share of 1.02%. The export value itself was recorded at USD 212.77 million or IDR 3.23 trillion. This figure grew quite significantly, which was 39.91% compared to the value of exports in 2020 which reached a value of USD 152.08 million or equivalent to IDR 2.31 trillion. Meanwhile, in the January-July 2022 period, Indonesia's exports of aluminum extruded products grew significantly by 26.97% compared to the same period in the previous year. Not only that, several export destinations for Indonesia's aluminum extrusions also experienced significant growth in the January-July 2022 period. The five countries were Germany, which rose 4.34%, Italy 1.41%, Spain 236.26%, England 171, 28%, and Australia 81.53%. "This shows that Indonesia's aluminum extrusion export performance to the world continues to increase in value and is able to take advantage of world market opportunities," said Zulhas.
