The Ketapang Aquaculture Bridge which is currently being built by the Tangerang Regency Government is considered to be a monument to economic revival in the northern part of Tangerang Regency, Banten. This was conveyed by a member of Commission IV of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Tangerang Regency, Deden Umar Dani. “We don’t want this bridge to be just a ceremonial activity, it must be a building that in the future becomes a monument to the economic revival of the northern region, especially Ketapang, starting with the presence of the bridge,” said Deden, Tuesday (27/09/2022). According to him, the Ketapang area is known as one of the underdeveloped villages in Tangerang Regency. With the construction of the Ketapang Aquaculture Bridge, that assumption can now change because there is an economic movement for residents around the bridge. Even now, there has seen an economic impact on the residents even though the bridge was still in the development process. “This will have a tremendous impact economically for the people there. Ketapang has always been called a part of an underdeveloped village in Tangerang Regency, I hope the presence of this bridge can also lift Ketapang Village into a developed and prosperous village,” he said.
The Tangerang Regency Government is known to be speeding up the construction of road and bridge access in the Ketapang Aquaculture area, Ketapang Village, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. In addition to welcoming the International Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) Network of Local Governments (PNLG) international event at the end of October 2022, the Ketapang Aquaculture bridge is also a public facility that can improve the economy of the local community. Access roads and bridges that will be repaired will be passed by guests from 12 countries and 53 coastal cities throughout East Asia during the PEMSEA event on October 25-28 2022. One of the important agendas of the event is a visit to the Ketapang Aquaculture mangrove forest area. The Head of Highways, Endang Sukendar said that his party had carried out several developments to facilitate access to the Ketapang Aquaculture mangrove forest area. It is certain that the access road and bridge in will be completed soon because it has reached 60% progress. In line with welcoming the international event, Endang explained that the construction of access roads and bridges will be beneficial to generate the economy for residents around the area, as the majority of residents in Ketapang Village are fishermen, and this development can provide benefits to generate the economy of the community around mangrove tourism.
