This activity will also be coupled with organizing a low-cost market and launching a consumer complaint outlet in the context of protecting consumers at the Mall. South Sulawesi's economy in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the second quarter of 2021 grew by 5.18%. From the production side, the transportation and warehousing business sector experienced the highest growth of 26.42%. In terms of expenditure, the component of exports of goods and services experienced the highest growth of 44.11%.


The South Sulawesi economy based on the amount of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) based on current prices in the second quarter of 2022 reached USD 10 billion and the amount of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) based on 2010 constant prices reached USD 5.9 billion. of increasing export growth. In the January-July 2022 period, South Sulawesi exports experienced a very significant growth of 57.17%, with a total export value of USD 1,329 billion with a total export volume of 652.32 thousand tons. The Trade Balance of South Sulawesi in the same period also experienced a surplus of USD 425.04 million. Commodities that contribute to exports in 2022, from the agricultural sector contributed 42.92%, the industrial sector 9.06% and the mining sector 75.54%. The five main commodities of South Sulawesi to be exported for the period of 2022 include; Nickel, Seaweed, Carragenan, Fresh Shrimp and Cocoa Liquor and are mostly exported to Japan, China, India, the United States and Malaysia.
