Astra Roma Ballet will perform in Indonesia for the first time, presenting their latest creation "BALLOON!". A two-part ballet dance performance. They will show their talents in Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Denpasar. This activity was organized by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Jakarta, in collaboration with Ciputra Artpreneur, the Yogyakarta Art Institute, the Indonesian Art Institute Denpasar and the Puri Painting Ratna Wartha Museum. "This show is the first time we have performed after 2 years due to the pandemic, and we are showing it in Indonesia, namely in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Denpasar. In collaboration with the Yogyakarta Indonesian Art Institute and the Denpasar Indonesian Art Institute." said Maria Battaglia as Director of the Italian Cultural Institute at Ciputra Artpreneur, Wednesday (21/9/2022). A ballet dance performance with two parts entitled "A new world" and "Time score". Where each part is the creation of a different choreographer namely, Giada Primiano and Fausto Paparozzi, as well as music created especially for this show by Marco Schiavoni. "What I have done is ask young choreographers for this show, this show is very interesting because it was made by our choreographer, not only the choreography but the story is also made by the choreographers". They will appear with their newest creations in Jakarta on September 22, 2022 at Ciputra Artpreneur. Astra Roma Ballet, founded in 1985 by Diana Ferrara, Prima Ballerina Etoile of the Opera Theater in Rome, was formed by a team of young dancers capable of performing in different choreographic styles. The openness and agility of the team allow the wide spread of the dance to the public in Italy and abroad, to be accessible to live ballet performances, combining classical, neo-classical and contemporary styles. A two-part ballet dance performance titled "A new world" and "Time score", with Robot Super Hero as the protagonist, who can handle everything with great skill and dexterity; he will amaze all his friends who will try in every way to involve him in their passions and impulses. Choreographers Giada Primiano and Fausto Paparozzi managed to combine comic imagery, robot signage and dance, telling the story of a robot. The current theme is represented on stage through a set of fun dancing novels based on plastic and/or animated cartoons, didactic and onomatopoeic balloons. The new work, which experiences a mixture of languages and through their dance creations, these choreographers want to deliver new content, take risks through innovative new forms, to bring together a growing audience without, of course, neglecting the art of dance, tradition, technique, and expression. human feelings. In addition, Astra Roma Ballet will also provide several workshops in several cities with the aim of recognizing cultural differences, such as art exchange in Indonesia and Italy as well as increasing the knowledge of young people in Indonesia and Italy. At the Yogyakarta Indonesian Institute of the Arts, a workshop will be held with students majoring in dance and music and during the performance will invite artists in Yogyakarta. Likewise, the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar will also invite the campus community, cultural experts and practitioners to watch a collaborative performance with the Italian Cultural Institute. This collaboration is an opportunity to increase skills and knowledge for students, especially at the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta and the Indonesian Art Institute in Denpasar.
The show is a new creation in June 2022. "For the concept itself, it has been thought about since January 2022 and then it was executed in June 2022 and this is the first show to be staged outside of Italy," said Diana Ferrara, founder of Astra Roma Ballet. "Before coming to Jakarta, we had performed four shows in Italy from June to August." he added. A two-part dance performance entitled "BALLONS!" it tells about a robot as the protagonist, who can overcome anything with his extraordinary skill and agility. The six dancers, including the two choreographers who were dancers in the show, have been practicing for 2 months with 5-7 hours of practice. "One thing that is interesting is we do rehearsal for 2 months about 5-7 hours in the summer and the music is made especially for this show." said Diana. The difficulty experienced during the preparation of this stage is self-expression (feelings) in dance. "Because in this dance there are robot characters who have no feelings, so the 'human' characters in this show must express themselves very openly," said Giada Primiano. "It's actually an ironic but entertaining show that gives the audience space to reflect." he continued. In addition, other difficulties are combining classical and contemporary choreography as well as making music, this ability is an important component for dancers. "Although our dancers are still very young, they have talent and also have a lot of experience in dancing and self-expression." said Diana. In his previous work, Astra Roma Ballet used to present a performance about a big character or a well-known story. "To create something new, which no one else has done before. This is something that has never been seen anywhere else, where there is a robot that is at the heart of the show and I think this is a great reason for people to see this show." Diana said, "In previous works we told big characters or well-known stories, but this time what we bring is the latest, which has never been done before." Diana continued. "We hope that in this show the audience can show themselves." added Giada Primiano.
