The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) together with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce Indonesia held the B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards as a form of appreciation for entrepreneurs who have sustainable innovation.
Head of the B20 organizer Shinta Kamdani said that this award is expected to strengthen awareness of the importance of sustainability and its huge impact on life and the business world. "I see this as a good timing to give awards to business actors who have been invisible so far," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday (20/9). Shinta said that at this event her party also paid attention to MSMEs, not only big business players.
The B20 Sustainability 4.0 Awards are part of the cooperation program between Europe and Indonesia in the B20 Indonesia 2022 side event. Apart from SwissCham and KADIN, this award was also initiated by Eurocham, Britcham, Ekonid, IBAI, IFCCI, and Trisakti University. According to Shinta, this event is also one of the prestigious award events whose implementation is in line with Indonesia's B20 priority agendas to create stronger, inclusive and collaborative economic growth. On the same occasion, Head of Sustainability & Innovation Sectoral Group SwissCham said more than 700 participants had registered and 204 participants met the qualifications. With a fairly strict selection process, the committee has selected the 18 best candidates according to the criteria set to advance to the final round. "The selection has been completed, 204 have met the qualifications and currently 18 companies have been netted," said Christophe. He also said the awards were divided into three categories. First, access to clean water. Second, plastic reduction and recycling. Third, the role of Indonesian women in the environment.
In more detail, the following categories and participants who passed: Access to clean water: Coca cola, Danone, Gree Energy, Komodo Water, Sago Mee, and SIAB Indonesia. Plastic reduction and recycling: Danone, Lazada Logistik, Sampangan, Waste4Change, Plana, and Plastic Bank Indonesia. The role of Indonesian women in the environment: Amartha, Evermos, Sukacita, Carbon Ethics, Duanyam, and Hear Me. The judging process for this award will last until the end of September 2022. The announcement of the winners will take place in October 2022.
