Arinal added that the Lampung Provincial Government and BI continue to work hard in exploring the potential and investment opportunities that exist in Lampung Province through Foila. Foila as an investment forum aims to facilitate, communicate, and establish collaboration between local governments to encourage investment in Lampung Province. Until now, Foila has also made breakthroughs and intensive strategies to encourage foreign investment while maintaining a stable investment climate. Furthermore, Arinal explained that his party hopes the 2022 LIBCF can be a momentum for investors to be able to invest again in Lampung Province through mutually beneficial cooperation.
Data from the Ministry of Investment shows that the realization of investment in Lampung Province in the first semester of 2022 was recorded at IDR 4.2 trillion, and this value only covers 38 percent of the total investment realization target for 2022. Arinal explained that the most significant contribution came from Bandar Lampung City, which amounted to 39 percent of investment realization in Lampung Province. The most significant contribution comes from the hotel and restaurant industry, which is 19 percent, followed by the food sector at 18 percent and construction at 14 percent. The target of Lampung Province investment is IDR 11 trillion from the national investment target of IDR 1,200 trillion. To achieve this target, the central government encourages cooperation between provincial, district and city governments, the private sector, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Arinal hopes that with LIBCF, The Lampung Provincial Government can improve partnerships in the future. On that occasion, Arinal said that in the future, economic transformation must be carried out in ways that are more environmentally friendly and pay attention to long-term sustainability. He said that the demand for products that are more environmentally friendly is increasing along with the increase in global consumer awareness and it will affect the demand and competitiveness of products, especially superior products for the export market in the future, so the transition to a sustainable economy must continue to be accelerated.
Meanwhile, Budiyono said that the 2022 LIBCF was initiated to carve a sustainable path toward economic recovery. This is because this event can increase the exposure of Lampung Province’s investment opportunities to the world at large. Foila also reported a significant improvement in how to stimulate investment in Lampung Province by promoting various investment projects and preparing a clean and clear profile of investment projects. “It is an honor that we have the opportunity to present an investment project in Lampung Province so that you can take part in our development,” said Budiyono. Budiyono continued that there will be plenary and thematic discussions to discuss current issues regarding the circular economy, sustainable investment, green financing initiatives, and policy innovation toward a green economy. In addition to current issues, LIBCF 2022 also presents presentations from investment project managers to provide more information regarding investment opportunities in Lampung Province. “We are also preparing for a one-on-one meeting between project managers and potential investors to be held on Wednesday (21/9/2022) after lunch. Presentations were delivered by national experts and policymakers. We guarantee an excellent and constructive discussion for you,” said Budiyono. On that occasion, Budiyono also hoped that the basic goal of LIBCF 2022 could be achieved, namely to bring together the collective efforts of Foila members so that they can take part in the continuation of the investment promotion that has been wide open.
