Various kinds of commodities such as vegetables, potatoes, salak, organic rice, and various other types of horticulture are abundant in the Wonosobo area. This technical guidance is aimed to give farmers an understanding that agricultural products must have good quality to be able to compete internationally. “Not only good quality so that it can be exported, but to compete domestically, the quantity of supply and a more affordable price must dominate. Moreover, foreign competition is very tight and it must be more than that,” she said.
According to the Head of Plantation and Horticulture, Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Service (Dispaperkan) Wonosobo, Sumanto, also admitted that his party was making various efforts to improve the welfare of farmers. One of them is a food estate program that brings together farmers with product buyers and various training to increase the capacity of farmers’ human resources. “With these efforts, especially with the assistance of the Indonesian House of Representatives, we hope that the goals can be achieved quickly,” he concluded.
