Around 150 micro and small businesses (UMK) that have joined the Pertamina Palangkaraya BUMN House have taken advantage of the MSME Digital Market (PaDI) marketplace to market their products, since May 2022. "Hopefully in the future, PADI UMKM will make our products more widely known to the public," he said. PADI MSME is a digital platform that encourages SOEs to transact with MSMEs. In addition, this platform can expand and make it easier for MSMEs to get access to financing. The products sold are prioritized domestically produced products with a relatively high Domestic Component Level (TKDN). Shopping payment transactions can use a virtual account. Agus Lindriyanto, Supervisor of the Palangkaraya SOE House, said that the benefits that his MSEs have experienced since joining PDI MSMEs are local and global access to e-commerce, market certainty and the opportunity to obtain tenders from all SOEs affiliated with PADI MSMEs. "PaDI UMKM also increases the branding of MSEs to make them more attractive," he said. Previously, Pertamina had prepared the manager of the BUMN House (RB) to become a UMK facilitator through the Pertamina RB Bootcamp. The activity, which was held at the end of August 2022, provided intensive briefing and certification to all facilitators from 30 BUMN RBs spread across the country, which stands for Pertamina. The Bootcamp theme was aligned with the momentum of Indonesia's presidency at the G20 Forum which raised several topics including digital economic transformation.
Fajriyah Usman, Pertamina's Vice President of CSR & SMEPP, said Pertamina continues to encourage fostered MSEs to join the PADI MSME digital platform. He hopes that MSEs will play a role in economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. “The pandemic has caused the level of people's welfare to drop drastically, many have been affected by efficiency and have resulted in the cessation of business. Pertamina encourages MSEs to grow and focus on economic recovery," he said. According to Fajriah, the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 12 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation No. 16 of 2018 concerning Government Procurement of Goods/Services opens opportunities for MSEs and cooperatives to participate in government procurement of up to IDR 15 billion. Opportunities for MSEs are getting bigger because the government has issued a policy that requires 40% of government and SOEs procurement of goods and services to use domestic products. “These two policies encourage the industry to grow, provide a lot of jobs, and of course prosper the community. The presence of PADI MSMEs can of course realize the two government policies," he said. He emphasized that PADI MSMEs also provide many benefits for MSEs fostered by Pertamina, BUMN and the government. MSEs will get easier access to a wider market, e-commerce both on a local and global scale, financing/capital and insight for MSEs to improve product quality. “For SOEs, PADI UMKM will facilitate shopping for office needs with verified and clear sellers. As for the government, the existence of MSME PaDI can be a strong basis for programs to improve the people's economy, with the accuracy of MSE data validity," he said. Berly Martawardaya, an economic observer from the Institute for Development of Economic and Finance (INDEF), said that in order to have a maximum impact on supporting the growth of MSEs, the MSME PaDI market manager must actively attract goods producers. MSE business actors also need to be provided with good training to maintain the quality of the goods and services they sell. “They (MSEs) must be accompanied, for example, to make good photos and product descriptions so that they are attractive to buyers. The expensive one might be promoting the marketplace so that people want to download the application and or visit the website for transactions," he said.
