Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan claimed that the realization of investment in the tourism and creative economy sectors reached IDR 5,31 trillion from 2020 to the first quarter of 2022. Luhut said the government continues to develop five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP), namely Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur in Central Java, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, and Likupang in North Sulawesi. According to him, the government’s program in encouraging the five priority destinations is not only a leading tourism destination but also a priority investment destination. Therefore, Luhut appealed to the Minister of Investment/Head of Investing Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia to maintain investor confidence and oversee the ease of investing. However, he also asked Balil to continue to pay attention to the environment and local wisdom. “Accelerate the licensing process and provide investment incentives,” Luhut continued. Not only that, he also asked the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno to increase tourism promotion and organize massive events, also improve the quality of human resources and strengthen destination governance. Likewise State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Municipally Owned Corporation (BUMD), Luhut wants the state apparatus to fully support the development of the five DPSPs. Moreover, BUMN and BUMD also need to cooperate with the community to actively participate, as well as maintain a conducive environment and become regional brand ambassadors.
