The meeting discussed several issues related to Indonesia's G20 Presidency, Indonesia's Chairmanship in ASEAN in 2023, efforts to recover Indonesia's economy after the pandemic, structural reforms through the Job Creation Act, low carbon economy, downstreaming of nickel industry commodities, to accelerating the completion of the Indonesia European Union Comprehensive negotiations. The EU-ABC delegation, which at the meeting was led by EU-ABC Vice Chairman Tassilo Brinzer, appreciated Indonesia for the successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the positive achievements of the Indonesian economy, which grew by 5.44% in the second quarter of 2022. EU-ABC also conveyed its support for Indonesia in the process of structural reform through the Job Creation Act in the hope of improving the investment climate in Indonesia, particularly through the Online Single Submission Risk Based Approach system which is integrated to facilitate business licensing. “We are looking forward to Indonesia's ASEAN Chair next year because Indonesia is one of the ASEAN economic powerhouses. For this reason, I hope that the ASEAN economy can continue to develop and be integrated into Indonesia's leadership," said EU-ABC Vice Chairman Tassilo.
On this occasion, the EU-ABC delegation also supported the acceleration of the completion of the IEU-CEPA negotiations. The EU-ABC also stated that it is ready to help improve the investment and business climate in Indonesia and is interested in working together to solve climate change. Present on the occasion were several related Echelon II officials within the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs along with a number of representatives of European companies that are EU-ABC members engaged in various sectors.
