The Ministry of Investment noted that the realization of investment during the January-June 2022 period or until the first semester of 2022 reached USD 50 billion. Investment realization during the first semester of 2022 increased by 32%. The Ministry of Investment/BKPM has also collected around 51% of the total investment target for 2022 of Rp. 1,200 trillion. At the same time, the government is also making various efforts to help business actors to survive and the results can be felt today. Namely, an increase in the investment realization rate in the second quarter of 2022 by 7% is in line with national economic growth. Bahlil, Minister of Investment/Head of BPKM, added that the distribution of investment realization outside Java in this quarter was gain more development compared to Java with a contribution of USD 10 billion or 52% of total investment, an increase of 38% from the same period in 2021. Investment outside Java also received a large contribution from Central Sulawesi, which was ranked third, and Riau is in fifth place. Apart from these two regions, West Java, DKI Jakarta and East Java are still in the top five, which still make a big contribution to investment this quarter. This achievement seems to make Indonesia one of the best macroeconomic foundation countries in the world. Especially when compared to other G20 member countries. The reason is, until the first semester of 2022, the realization of investment has reached USD 50 billion or reached 58.4% of the target.
As a reflection of economic equality in Indonesia, investment growth outside Java is quite stable and continues to increase significantly. BKPM has published data on the realization of investment realization in the first quarter (January-March period) for 2022, which is USD 20 billion, 28.5% higher than the same period in 2021. The achievement of the first quarter of 2022 also increased by 16.9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2021. That way, it can be said that if the flow of investment into Indonesia is getting heavier, the economy in Indonesia will increase because of the absorption of labor which will have an impact on increasing people's purchasing power.
