This is evident from the expansion of the production area carried out by PT Infineon Technologies Batam, PT Infineon Technologies Batam in April 2022 with the purchase of real estate from PT Unisem in the Batamindo Industrial Park. "This expansion is motivated by the fulfillment of the gap in Integrated Circuit (IC) needs, considering that since boundaries in several countries were opened after the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a fairly large surge in IC demand, from 10 million ICs per week to 20 million ICs per week," he said. Susiwijono in an official statement, Tuesday. This expansion that doubles the capacity of the production area is part of Infineon Technologies AG's long-term investment strategy with an investment figure of around 2.4 billion euros for the 2022 fiscal year. PT Infineon Technologies Batam is an industrial company from Germany which is engaged in the semiconductor sector and has absorbed around 2,000 workers since March 6, 1996. Standing on an area of 83,000 square meters which is equivalent to 11 football fields, PT Infineon Technologies Batam is located in the Batamindo Industrial Park area, Batam, and is part of the Indonesia-Singapore-Malaysia economic growth triangle.
As one of the companies in Indonesia designated as National Lighthouse Industry 4.0, PT Infineon Technologies Batam will become a role model for industry players in the sector, as well as become a dialogue partner for the Government in implementing industry 4.0 in Indonesia.
The government continues to make efforts to facilitate and provide convenience for investors to increase investment in the high-tech industry and open up opportunities in developing semiconductor factories in Indonesia.
