Ministry of Industry: PIDI 4.0 Accelerates The Digital Transformation of The Industrial Sector

The Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan said that the Indonesian Digital Industry Center 4.0 or Pusat Industri Digital Indonesia (PIDI 4.0) accelerated the digital transformation of the industrial sector. "As one concrete step to realize the goal of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, the Ministry of Industry has built the Indonesian Digital Industry Center 4.0 (PIDI 4.0) in order to accelerate the development and implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia," said Arus in his statement in Jakarta, Monday. According to Arus, PIDI 4.0 was established as a one-stop solution for implementing industry 4.0 in Indonesia, which is also a window for Indonesia 4.0 to the world. "PIDI 4.0 is also for the preparation of competent human resources in the industrial 4.0 field," he said. Some time ago, at the 2022 Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo in Jakarta, PIDI 4.0 participated by presenting showcases of several PIDI 4.0 partners, namely Rexroth, TÜV Rheinland, AWASIN, and Widya Robotics. The Director of PIDI 4.0 as well as the Head of the BPSDMI Industrial HR Training Center at the Ministry of Industry, Tirta Wisnu Permana said that the manufacturing sector in Indonesia always develops along with digital transformation. "To accelerate the transformation of industry 4.0 in Indonesia, all stakeholders are expected to participate and contribute actively through PIDI 4.0," he explained.

Wisnu explained that PIDI 4.0 has five main pillars or services. First, the Showcase Center, to raise awareness about industry 4.0 and present real experiences of how industry 4.0 is implemented in production lines. Second, the Capability Center, as a training center to improve the skills of industrial workers and the state civil apparatus (ASN). Third, Ecosystem for Industry 4.0, as a place for collaboration in developing the implementation of industry 4.0. Fourth, the Delivery Center, as a place for industrial assistance in transforming towards industry 4.0. "The fifth is the Engineering and AI Center, which helps industrial problems with engineering technology and artificial intelligence," said Wisnu. The presence of PIDI 4.0 at the Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo in 2022 is also expected to strengthen the existence of PIDI 4.0 both at home and abroad, as well as open opportunities for collaboration to jointly advance industry 4.0. "Previously, PIDI 4.0 was one of the objectives of the G20 Sherpa visitation which will be held on December 8, 2021. On this occasion, PIDI 4.0 seeks to show its commitment in accelerating the implementation of the industrial revolution 4.0," said Wisnu. The three main focuses featured in the G20 Sherpa visit were industrial digitalization, green industry, and the inclusive economy. German Federation President Frank Walter Steinmeier visited PIDI 4.0 on June 16, 2022. During the visit, a business meeting was held entitled "German-Indonesia Business Round Table" which was attended by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita accompanying the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto with the German delegation. “Until now, PIDI 4.0 has had 30 partners consisting of 26 companies and four educational institutions. With these Industrial Partners who have joined, it is hoped that PIDI 4.0 can continue to accelerate digital transformation in the industrial sector, as the PIDI 4.0 tagline, namely Accelerate Your Transformation," concluded Wisnu.
