The Export Value of the Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia is Targeted to Reach 25.14 Billion US Dollars in 2022

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno targets that the export value of Indonesia's creative economy in 2022 can reach 25.14 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, the export value of Indonesia's creative economy in 2021 has reached 23.9 billion US dollars. Previously in 2020, Indonesia's creative economy was only at 18.8 billion US dollars.
"This 61.6 percent of the contribution is from fashion commodities. Meanwhile, (the contribution of) crafts is 31 percent and culinary commodities that should be more able to be increased have only reached almost 7 percent," sandiaga said in the Weekly Press Briefing, Monday (22/8/2022).
He added that in addition to these three commodities, there are still commodities such as game applications, television, radio, photography, advertising, publishing, performing arts, and fine arts which are also encouraged to become the leading commodities of the creative economy.

The number of startups is targeted to increase to 200 in 2022

Then, Sandiaga targets, an increase in the number of digital startups will reach 200 companies in 2022. "I believe that the number of startups will increase to 300 by 2023. Imagine if 10 percent of the 500 startups that we have created in these two years can create 10,000 jobs, then the target of creating 4.4 million jobs by 2024 can be achieved," he added.

Target foreign tourist visits.
Then, Sandiaga Uno also explained, in June 2022 foreign tourist visits to Indonesia through the main entrance reached 345,440 or an increase of 1,973.96 percent on an annual basis compared to the same period the previous year.
"In May 2022, month on month (mom) growth increased by 63 percent," he added.
Meanwhile, the growth of foreign tourists to Indonesia from January to June 2022 has reached 743,210 or an increase of almost 1,000 percent.
This was also followed by a hotel room occupancy rate of 50 percent in June 2022, or an increase of 11.7 percent on an annual basis compared to the same period last year.
"We have succeeded in forcing changes in parekraf actors and tourists are now staying longer and shopping more, and the demand for remote work is also increasing," he explained.
For this reason, Sandiaga targets that by 2023 foreign tourist visits to Indonesia can reach 3.5 million to 7.4 million visits.
"So if the target this year is 1.8 million to 3.8 million, then next year we will double it," he said.
