The Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) of Tangerang Regency, Banten said that the export value of the footwear industry in the area in 2022 has increased quite significantly when compared to other commodities. The Head of Trade at the local Disperindag, Iskandar Nordat in Tangerang, Tuesday said that the increase in contribution from the footwear sector can be seen from export data on processed products of medium-sized industries to reach IDR 55 trillion. "Of the 150 active export companies, the footwear products sector remains the number one commodity," he said.
According to him, the footwear industry is one of the mainstay manufacturing sectors that receives development priorities from the government. Thus, it can make a major contribution to the national economy. "After the COVID-19 pandemic, allhamdulillah normalcy is back. Because our exports are dominant in the non-food industry at this time," he said.
He said, if currently the export value based on the SKA issuance letter this year has reached IDR 55 trillion, this figure has increased when compared to the export value in the previous year, which only reached IDR 15 trillion per semester. “In 2021, in semester 1, the export value was recorded at IDR 15,011,400,954,500. But this year with the same semester it has reached IDR 55,716,749,293,000. He revealed that the increase was due to the economic recovery in Indonesia after the COVID-19 pandemic and also the opening of borders between countries. "The triggering factor is the start of economic recovery after COVID-19 and many borders of the country have been opened so that the economy has improved again," he said.
