To increase the value of products in the community, the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) 2022 was held in Tomohon City, North Sulawesi, which took place on August 8-14, 2022 with the theme "Tomohon Greets The World". The purpose of holding TIFF 2022 is to make Tomohon the center of the floriculture industry in eastern Indonesia. PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) also participated in celebrating TIFF 2022. At the event, PKT displayed various flagship products packaged in a flower parade on floats. Starting from Fruit Leaf Urea, NPK Pelangi, to biological fertilizers and NPK Pelangi JOS which are PKT's newest products. PKT Corporate VP Marketing Partner Indah Febrianty said, PKT's participation is one of the efforts to increase awareness of the company's products in supporting the national agricultural sector. PKT products are also expected to be better known to farmers in The City of Flowers and North Sulawesi, so that in the future they can be an option in encouraging regional agricultural productivity. "Through this event, various PKT products are expected to be better known and become brand awareness in the community, so that we can increase the potential of food crops and horticulture in North Sulawesi to the maximum," indah said as quoted in Jakarta. He explained, in supporting food security and increasing Indonesia's agricultural productivity, PKT continues to strive to present quality products that are suitable for various types of crops according to land characteristics. One of them is NPK Pelangi JOS, as a macro compound fertilizer that is able to provide the best results for agricultural commodities. This fertilizer is the first innovation in Indonesia, which combines biological fertilizers and chemical fertilizers in one package.
From these advantages, NPK Pelangi JOS can make the soil more nutrient-rich without having to lose the carrying capacity of the land, so that farmers are more efficient in use. "Not only for food crops, NPK Pelangi JOS is also suitable for horticultural types. This can be an option for Tomohon and North Sulawesi farmers in increasing crop productivity," indah added. In the future, CCP will continue to educate and introduce product advantages in various activities that are in direct contact with farmers, as an active step by the company to encourage domestic agricultural productivity. This is also aligned with the agricultural governance assistance program, which is implemented by PKT in the Commodity Demonstration Plot (Demplot) and the Makmur program to facilitate farmers with various agri-input facilities to achieve maximum results. "PKT will continue to be present for the community and farmers, in order to optimize the domestic agricultural sector through quality products," said Indah. Tomohon Mayor Caroll Joram Azarias Senduk, appreciated the contribution of all parties in the success of TIFF 2022, which is considered to be a turning point for the community in terms of economic recovery, as well as encouraging the local potential of flower farming developed by farmers. "This is considering that all flowers in TIFF 2022 are the result of Tomohon farmers, as one of the regional leading commodities," said Caroll. The Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey, also hopes that this activity can spur economic growth in North Sulawesi, especially the agricultural sector which is expected to grow and have a significant impact on the welfare of farmers. According to him, increasing agricultural productivity in North Sulawesi is one of the government's concerns in the future, because its contribution is quite significant to the regional economy. From previously supported by the tourism sector, agricultural commodities currently contribute to the pace of the North Sulawesi economy which reached 5.93 percent in the second quarter of 2022, above the national average target of 5.44 percent. If these two sectors can continue to be optimized in the long term, he believes that the level of public welfare will be achieved properly. "For example, from this activity, we can calculate the potential. If one flower is priced at IDR 5,000 and one float needs 5,000 flowers, what economic value can farmers absorb from the dozens of participating vehicles. We need to encourage this so that the agricultural sector of North Sulawesi will grow and develop," said Olly Dondokambey.
