The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) will provide incentives to companies that produce New and Renewable Energy (NRE). Director of Customs Facilities at the Ministry of Finance of the Ministry of Finance, Untung Basuki, said that his party is currently reviewing the types of incentives that will be given to NRE producers. "Now we are making a study about what incentives can be given to companies that produce NRE," said Untung in Bandung, Thursday (11/8). This incentive will apply to all types of NRE, from geothermal power, hydro power, marine thermal power, solar power, to wind power. "All we are targeting is as long as it (the company) produces NRE," said Untung. However, the incentives will only be given to companies that cooperate with ministries/agencies (k/l). One of them is the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR). By providing incentives, the government hopes that the number of companies producing NRE will increase. Thus, the target to reduce carbon emissions in Indonesia can be achieved more quickly. "We hope that actually all of our potential can be developed such as Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP), actually there is enough potential in Indonesia, geothermal is like that," he explained. In addition, the government also hopes that more companies will develop Solar Power Plants (SPP) in Indonesia. "Actually, solar energy has great potential, we have quite a lot of it. This is how we should support efforts to increase the potential of NRE into energy that can be utilized," said Untung.
