The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) succeeded in delivering Indonesian fishery products to 138 countries around the world during the first semester of 2022. This is inseparable from the strategy of strengthening the quality assurance and safety of fishery products through the issuance of health certificates (HC) which is intensively carried out by the KKP. "Our fishery products have been accepted in 138 countries from the target of 132. This is a target of how we can maintain it, don't let it disappear because of health insurance, this quality assurance is not good," said Acting Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety Agency Fishery Products (BKIPM), Hari Maryadi during a press conference, Wednesday (20/7).
As a quality assurance officer, his party has issued 72,760 HC in the first semester of 2022 which is very important to ensure that Indonesian fishery products are safe and of good quality. Meanwhile, the number of products exported was 589.81 thousand tons. Hari explained that the export of fishery products in the first semester provided non-tax state income (PNBP) of IDR 29.37 billion. The ten main export destinations are the United States, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Italy and Hong Kong. "So the PNBP that comes in from exports is only because there is no tariff for domestic activity services. This is because the Minister is very concerned about supporting business actors, especially those upstream, who can stand up straight, can move well so that PNBP is not collected," explained Hari. Hari added that currently 2,022 fish processing units (UPI) have been registered in a number of partner countries around the world. This makes the opportunity for Indonesian fishery products to enter the export market, both in terms of volume and value.
