Minister of Investment Bahlil Reveals 30 Companies Will Move to Indonesia, Investment Value of IDR 140 T

The Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that there would be 30 companies relocating their business to Indonesia. According to Bahlil, this relocation recorded an investment value of nearly Rp 140 trillion. "The relocations that have been announced by 30 companies have an investment value of USD 9.4 billion, equivalent to more than IDR 100 trillion. Almost IDR 140 trillion," said Bahlil at the Press Conference on Investment Realization for the Second Quarter of 2022, Wednesday (20/7/2022).
This number is actually still far from what BKPM has conveyed. From detikcom records, the Ministry of Investment had stated that there were 162 companies that intended to relocate from outside China to Indonesia. "To date, there are 162 companies that are interested in relocating investments from outside China to Indonesia," said Secretary of the Ministry of Investment Ikmal Lukman some time ago. Bahlil said several companies had relocated to Indonesia. Among them came from Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the United States, to Germany. On the same occasion, Bahlil dismissed accusations that foreign investors had left Indonesia. According to him, the departure of investors occurred in the past few years. "In the past, someone left, 3-4 years ago, that's what my deputy said. But now no one has left," said Bahlil.
