The Acting Governor of Gorontalo Hamka Hendra Noer encouraged the livestock sector in Gorontalo Province to take over in the economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. This was said by Hamka when reviewing the broiler farming business in Bakti Village, Pulubala District, Gorontalo Regency, Sunday (17/7/2022). "We are well aware from the start that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the community's economic growth has stalled. Well, one of the things we have to encourage is real business actors like this. I think this is a pretty good monthly income and earlier we saw how strong he was in absorbing labor," said Hamka who was accompanied by his wife. Gamaria Monoarfa, when looking closely at the community's economic activities.
Hamka emphasized that currently both the central government and regional governments are continuing to improve to rise after the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, he is committed to expanding the chicken farming business in Gorontalo so that employment opportunities are open. This Expert Staff of the Ministry of Youth and Sports added that he would see opportunities, whether it could be by providing an injection of funds or efforts like this to be collaborated with third parties. “The uptake of chicken in Gorontalo is still lacking, maybe there should be some like this. Do we make it here or somewhere else. But the question is, if we hope for local farmers, it might be a bit difficult to build with a model like this, so we have to look for collaboration with third parties so that if there are more chicken farms in Gorontalo, the economy will also be strong in the community," he explained. It is known that Airafa's chicken farm, located in Molowahu Hamlet, is able to harvest 12,000 heads per 32 days with an income of Rp. 100 million.
