The province of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) exported coconut flour to 29 countries in the period January to May 2022. The export reached 7.78 million tons and generated foreign exchange for the country of 15.987 million United States (US) dollars. "The 29 countries receiving coconut flour exports from North Sulawesi are Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, China, Chile, Finland, Georgia, Hong Kong, UK, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Egypt, France, Poland, Portugal, Russia, New Zealand, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay," said North Sulawesi's Head of Industry and Trade, Edwin Kindangen, Saturday (16/7/2022). He said these 29 countries regularly buy coconut flour from North Sulawesi which is used as raw material for making food, both bread, pastries and other dishes.
Of the 29 countries, the highest demand from Russia was 1,504 tons and was able to generate foreign exchange for the country of 3.06 million US dollars. Then, from Germany as much as 1,147 tons with a foreign exchange value of 2.11 million US dollars. Also, he said, from Australia as much as 672 tons with a foreign exchange value of 1.54 million US dollars. And, he said, other countries demand the volume of North Sulawesi coconut flour below 500 tons. "We hope that exporters will maintain the quality and quantity of this superior export product," he said. The government will continue to provide technical guidance and training, so that exporters from North Sulawesi will be more innovative and create more products.
