Kemenparekraf Encourages the Growth of Halal Industry Players Through ICEFF 2022

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) targets that 70% of the 2022 Islamic Creative Economy Funder Fund (ICEFF) participants who take part in the boothcamp and pitching program stages can establish partnerships with investors and Islamic funding institutions. This is for business development so that it can encourage economic revival and create job opportunities. Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Henky Manurung, said that the current halal industry trend is one of the main topics of conversation in the international business world. The estimated consumption of global Muslims is around USD2.2 trillion with a growth rate of 5.2% on an annual basis. This amount is estimated to reach USD 2.4 trillion by 2024.

"We can be proud because Indonesia is ranked second as the best halal tourism destination in the world according to the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) research in 2022 and we hope that next year we will be number one. Because we are a big nation, and we have great potential in developing the halal industry, including in the creative economy sub-sector," said Henky Manurung in a press statement quoted by Kompas.com, Wednesday (13/7/2022). The magnitude of this trend in the halal industry has also brought about changes in access to financing. This access is not only in the financing and capital model, but also in the presence of investors and sharia-based financial institutions. Henky said, in addition to providing access to financing for creative economy actors, especially SMEs, ICEFF 2022 also increases the capacity and capability of creative economy actors. Especially in the 4 main sub-sectors namely culinary, craft, applications, and modest fashion. "We hope that with today's meeting there will be three things that we believe will happen, namely upskilling.

From those who don't know to know, and really want to move forward. Second is a partnership, where they (the creative actors) and our investors can partner or even later present other forms that can be developed together," explained Henky. For information, the Islamic Creative Economy Founders Fund (ICEFF) 2022 is a program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy that brings together tourism and creative economy business actors, especially the halal industry in the culinary, craft, application sub-sectors, and modest fashion.
