The Regency Government (Pemkab) of North Luwu (Lutra) targets 11 thousand hectares of agricultural land in its territory to be covered by insurance this year. The protection of the agricultural business is carried out through the Rice Farmer Business Insurance (AUTP) program from PT Jasindo. This was conveyed by the Regent of Lutra, Indah Putri Indriani, while receiving an audience from PT Jasindo Makassar, some time ago. At that time, they also discussed the follow-up to the Buffalo Cattle Cattle Business Insurance collaboration, aka AUTSK. The Regent of Indah revealed that this meeting was in the context of evaluating the AUTP program for the 2022 budget year, as well as the AUTSK cooperation plan.
"I appreciate and thank you for the cooperation that we have established so far in order to help farmers as food fighters, lighten the burden for those who experience the impact of disasters, both floods and pests and diseases on their rice plants," she said. She confirmed that for the 2022 planting season, the Lutra Regency Government has a target of registering 11,000 hectares of AUTP participants. Temporary data that has been registered in the agricultural insurance information system application or READY for rice planting covers an area of 3,752.92 hectares and will continue to grow. "We are optimistic that we can realize the North Luwu Regency target of 11,000 hectares before the end of the fiscal year. Even though we have ups and downs considering the regional financial condition, we will not reduce this program specifically, instead we want to expand it," she said. The Regent of Indah explained that related to the AUTSK program, for Lutra Regency the potential is quite large. "We want how to improve the welfare of livestock farmers by ensuring their safety, because in the future there will be many natural disasters. Therefore, we must give farmers and ranchers incentives so that they continue to farm and raise livestock because there is a guarantee of safety, protection for their business, both It's the business of rice farmers and livestock," she explained.
In addition, the Regent of Indah said this would be part of the study for the local government to recalculate, although there is good news because our TKDD has increased quite a bit. "In North Luwu, there are quite a lot of buffalo cattle, namely 32,859 cows. The potential is indeed big, for the initial stage we can insure 10 thousand heads, we are slowly covering it and for this AUTSK we will consider if we can take a look at the condition of our budget and we will review it used to be in technical SKPD," said Regent Indah.
