The Jogja Halal Festival will be held again in November 2022. The event was held by involving hundreds of halal industry players not only in DIY. Jogja Halal Fest #2 will be held for four days from 3-6 November at the Jogja Expo Center. This festival will be held again after two years of vacuum, namely in 2020 and 2021. The Chairperson of the Jogja Halal Fest #2 Committee, Sarwi Peni Wulandaru said, there were 278 booths that would fill the halal festival. These hundreds of booths consist of various halal industries. "There are 14 halal industries, there is food (culinary), there is fashion, there are cosmetics, property and there is a hospital, there is tourism, there is education, finance, logistics and others," Wulan said to Republika after launching Jogja Halal Fest #2 in Grand Rohan Jogja Hotel, Bantul, DIY, Sunday (3/7). Wulan said that 26 percent of the 278 booths had been sold. At the time of launching, there were also 50 booths sold. "A total of 278 booths have been prepared, 73 have already been sold. And before that, there were also 50 who registered," she said. The plan is that the Jogja Halal Fest in 2022 will be held in a hybrid manner. Although, this is still considering the spread of Covid-19 in the future, even though in DIY at this time the spread of Covid-19 is still sloping. The Jogja Halal Fest event itself was first held in 2019. This event has been on hiatus for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was held by the Islamic Economic Community (MES) DIY in collaboration with other organizations. Starting from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) DIY, the Indonesian Halal Tourism Association (PPHI), ICMI to Mukisi. It is hoped that this event will become a halal festival that is routinely carried out every year in the future. The head of PP MES, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said that through the Jogja Halal Fest, we would build and drive the wheels of the sharia economy.
"Hopefully it can be carried out regularly every year and become a proud event for MES, encouraging Indonesia to become the center of the sharia economy," said Friderica. The chairman of MES DIY, Heroe Poerwadi also hopes that this activity will also become an annual agenda. He also hopes that Jogja Halal Fest #2 will also be more successful than the previous one which was held in 2019. "We want all economic actors to participate together in this second Jogja Halal Festival. We hope that this second activity will be more successful than the first," said Heroe.
